Between 2016 and 2021, the average annual growth was 11.0%. This period saw a significant surge in the DRAM and NAND markets in 2017 and 2018, as well as a strong post-pandemic recovery in 2020 and 2021. However, most industry observers, including IC Insights, believe that the semiconductor industry is highly cyclical and double-digit growth cannot continue for long. As a result, IC Insights experts predict that the market will grow by 7.1% per year until 2026.
The largest average annual growth is expected in the segment of sensors and actuators, followed by optoelectronic products. When it comes to microcircuits, the largest growth is predicted in the segment of logic microcircuits, and analysts put analog microcircuits in the second place.
