Who is the most faithful jeweler of the Cannes Film Festival? The answer is: Chopard. Over the past twenty-five years, the Swiss jewelery (and watchmaking) maison has maintained what could be called a long love affair with the world’s premier film festival. Since 1998, Chopard has been an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, with the task of making the famous Palme d’Or (ethics) in its workshops, presented in the characteristic blue leather case.
«In twenty-five years, I have been a privileged witness of great moments of cinema and emotion. Since 2014 we have also been using this symbol of the Festival, the Palme d’Or, to draw the world’s attention to the theme of ethics and environmental responsibility. Our laboratories have made the award the first ethical film trophy in Fairmined certified gold, ”he explains Caroline Scheufele, artistic director of the jewelry house, a woman of taste and character who shines in the eyes of the world. The collaboration began with Pierre Viot and Gilles Jacob and continues today with Thierry Frémeaux and Pierre Lescure.
But Chopard is also immoderate love for actors, actresses, directors and stars, that the company is committed to making shine on the stairs of the Palais des Festivals and in the various parties it organizes. In addition, it organizes various parties during the eleven days of the Festival and the Chopard Trophywhich rewards and encourages an emerging actor or actress.
