By now, of podcast, there are several. You probably also know ours, those of Vanity Fairfrom Royal Secrets, on the English Royal Family, a Modestly, on the many issues of fashion. And then many others, on cinema, TV, stories and current events. The world of podcasts has become very rich and certainly exponentially growing.
But to make a good podcast, as perhaps to do anything else well, you can’t improvise: or rather, you can, but it shows.
If you want to make the leap and offer a quality product, you need to study, have fundamental coordinates and skills on several fronts.
Thus was born the Chora Academy by Chora Mediathe Italian podcast company founded in 2020 by Guido Maria Brera, Mario Gianani, Roberto Zanco e Mario Calabresiwho directs it.
This year the school, coordinated by Andrea Federica de Cesco, it will be free and will feature its narrators, authors, sound designers and engineers, from Pablo Trincia in the role of Academy coach to Nicola Lagioia, from Sara Poma to Selvaggia Lucarelli, from Cecilia Sala to Luca Micheli.
The course is online and will take place over eight weeks, from 21 March to 15 May.
Each week they are planned two live video lessons via Zoom. Immediately after each video lesson there will be a moment of confrontation between students and teachers. On the e-learning platform, a forum will always be available for any questions, as well as quizzes to gradually check the level of learning.
In the two months students will learn all the steps of the supply chain to create a podcast: how to search for a story and how to build it, how to do an interview and how to record it, how to use the voice and how to avoid legal problems, how to promote your project and how propose it to third parties. Eventually they will have learned the basics necessary to create a podcast and will receive a certificate of participation.
In mid-May, at the conclusion of the lessons, students will be invited to participate in a day in presence in Milan, to get to know the world of Chora live. In addition, all the participants in the Academy will have the opportunity to propose a podcast project: the best will be selected and over the course of two weekends in attendance they will work with Chora to make a trailer.
Registration is open from 21 to 28 February and all information is available on academy.choramedia.com.
