“Finally, the propaganda dilemma of the Mitsotakis government ‘with the library or with the sledgehammer’, received its real form today, since apart from the many other atrocities within the university, the repression units threw tear gas at the entrance of the central library of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. “Let the students who were reading run”, notes in a statement the head of the Citizen Protection department of SYRIZA-PS, Christos Spirtzis.
“The Mitsotakis staff state showed today, once again, how it envisions the operation of Greek universities. “Students immobilized on the ground, MAT forces even inside the University buildings, tear gas, flash flashes, wood, adductions”, he comments and continues:
“We admire in the photos that follow, how the Mitsotakis government treats our youth, our children, the student movement. after being shot by a MAT police officer, a flash-grenade fired in a straight line (!) “.
“The pseudo-dilemma of New Democracy ‘either with the library or with the sledgehammers’ does not disorient the democratic world of the country, which realizes that the real dilemma is ‘either free democratic universities or a Mitsotaki police state'”, says Chr. Spirtzis and concludes:
“We warn for the umpteenth time the competent Minister of Civil Protection, to stop using the police as an instrument of terror and repression and as a means of revenge against young people who are strongly resisting the anti-democratic downhill that has been leading the country for three years, the government Mitsotaki “.
