Chris Evans returns to Marvel and joins Downey Jr. in the new “Avengers”, says website

The American actor Chris Evans 43, will join Robert Downey Jr., 59, and return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the new film in the “Avengers” franchise according to The Wrap. Details about the star’s role have not yet been revealed.

Previously, Evans brought Captain America to life in the solo superhero films and in the first and four “Avengers” productions already released.

Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU was made during San Diego Comic Con in July this year. The Oscar winner, however, will not return to play Iron Man. In the new phase, he will bring to life the villain Doctor Doom.

The next Avengers films, “Apocalypse” and “Secret Wars”, are expected to hit theaters in 2026 and 2027, respectively. See the next Marvel releases in theaters.
