The first images of “The Electric State” the new one from the Russo brothers (“Avengers” and “Hidden Agent”), were released by Netflix. Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) and Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things” and “Enola Holms”) star in the retrofuturistic production.
The plot follows Michelle, an orphaned teenager, who lives in a society where sentient robots, which look like cartoons and exist peacefully among humans, are in exile after a failed rebellion. Everything she thinks about the world is turned upside down when she receives a visit from Cosmo, a sweet and mysterious robot who appears to be controlled by Christopher, her younger brother who she thought was dead.
Determined to find the brother she thought she lost, Michelle sets out across the American Southwest with Cosmo and soon finds herself reluctantly joining forces with Keats, a smuggler, and his sarcastic robot partner, Herman. As they venture into the Exclusion Zone, an isolated corner of the desert where robots now exist on their own, Keats and Michelle encounter a strange and colorful group of new animatronic allies.
In addition to Pratt and Bobby Brown, names like Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere at the Same Time”), Jason Alexander (“Seindfield” and “Pretty Woman”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad” and “The Boys”), Stanley Tucci (“The Devil Wears Prada” and “O Olhar Paraíso”) and more in the cast.
