The first images of “The Bride” a new reinterpretation of the classic character Frankenstein was revealed on director Maggie Gyllenhaal's social media.
In the photos published by Jake Gyllenhaal's sister, Jessie Buckley (“The Lost Daughter”) appears as the protagonist, while Christian Bale (“Batman: The Dark Knight”) is the iconic Frankenstein.
“The Bride” is set in the 1930s. According to the synopsis, a murdered young woman (Jessie) is revived, but her new life surprises her creators as she yearns for romance and starts a radical social movement.

It is worth mentioning that “The Bride” is not the only production about the character in progress at the moment. Actor Jacob Elordi will play the monster in a film directed and produced by Guillermo Del Toro.
The character of Frankenstein is based on Mary Shelley's book about the brilliant but selfish scientist Victor Frankenstein, who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment.
“The Bride” is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
