Christian Chavez revealed what his mother’s reaction was when he confessed that he was gay REVISION / 14:40

Mexican singer and actor Christian Chavez, has been one of the most transparent artists regarding his sexual preferences. Well, since he declared himself gay in March 2007, in one of the most important moments of fame for the RBD group, he has been in charge of being one of the most important famous voices to defend the rights of the LGBTQ + community.

However, talking about his sexual orientation was not always so easy, since during an interview for the channel Yordi Rosado YouTubeHe opened up and revealed how difficult it was to speak openly and confess it to his parents, since he assured that even his mother kicked him out of the house.

Through his conversation with Yordi, the 39-year-old singer began to open up and talked about how complicated the process of his own sexual acceptance was, but perhaps the most difficult was the moment in which he confessed it to his parents, since at that time he was barely 17 years old and had just finished with his first partner.

It was like this with tears and moved by the moment, Christian spoke of that sad experience of the moment in which he decided to come out of the closet with his parents. Considering that his mother, Olivia Garza, was quite religious and his father, Luis Chávez, a rather conservative man, their reaction was not the best, he even recalled that his mother immediately kicked him out of the house.

I told them, ‘Dad, mom, I’m gay. I said: How can it be that the people who love me the most don’t know who I really am? It was very important to me that the people who loved me the most knew who I was because if they didn’t know that other part of me, they had to know. At that moment, my mom kicked me out of the house. She told me that I was going to die of AIDS, that God did not want me like this.

For his part, his father did not take the news in the best way either, since at first he was shocked, and then hurt him by telling him that he will not take any boy and will try not to show that he is gay, since from the beginning he thought it was a fad.

My dad was kind of shocked, he thought it was like a fad. He told me something that hurt me: ‘Don’t let it show, don’t bring anyone here’ and, obviously, it was a ten-year process in which they began to understand.

After they kicked him out of the house, the former member of the RBD group went to live at a friend’s house, although he confessed that his mother soon spoke to him to return home. However, it was from that moment that his parents began a long acceptance process that lasted approximately 10 years.
