Christmas gifts 2022: the beauty brands that protect the ocean

Christmas shopping can be transformed into a gift also for the planet. Through the purchase of beauty products that love and protect the sea even in winter. An opportunity to safeguard and regenerate our oceans. To the sound of Blue is the news black the motto chosen for the Unesco event held in Venice last November in contrast to Black Friday, to remember the power and centrality of the sea for our ecosystem.

François Gabart, the skipper with a sustainable heart

SVR turned 60 years old. The history of the brand began in 1962 in Ault, Normandy and is linked to Simone Véret, a pharmacist who made galenic preparations in the back of her pharmacy. She invented combinations of active ingredients to treat her clients. Tourists protected their skin with Filtrasol before going to the beach, while those who remained exposed to the sun for too long resorted to Calmobrul. Even today, Laboratoire SVR keeps the same obsession alive: to offer dermatological solutions for fragile skin with high concentrations of active ingredients that offer visible results in a short time. But which, above all, represent a daily aid to help you feel good in your own skin.

This birthday occurs together with another important milestone: the collaboration of the Kresk group (of which SVR is part) with the skipper Francois Gabart on board the Trimaran Unicum SVR-Lazartigue to promote ocean conservation. With this giant of the seas, François participated in the regatta Route du Rum 2022 finishing second and breaking down the previous record. A relationship, the one between skipper and sponsor, characterized by the desire to transform maritime adventures into opportunities to do something in favor of the planet. As François told us: «During the Route du Rhum, the SVR Lazartigue Trimaran was also the ambassador of the endowment fund Kresk4Ocean and its program #Educate4Oceans. The French students had the opportunity to follow my path through a pedagogical platform and to monitor plastic pollution with an educational journey that has above all long-term value». Educate4Oceans takes shape through the French platform La Course Bleue, where teachers can find useful pedagogical resources and participate with their classes in the creation of an innovative solution to combat marine pollution. The winners will have the opportunity to meet François Gabart.
