Christos Dimas’s visit to Israel

Meetings and contacts with business, scientific and technological bodies in Israel were held by the Deputy Minister of Development & Investment and Member of Parliament for Corinth, Mr. Christos Dimas.

The Undersecretary attended yesterday the signing ceremony of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by the President and CEO of the 4th generation technology park of Thessaloniki “Thess INTEC SA”, Nikos Efthymiadis, the President of Ben Gurion University, Daniel Hamovic ( ), a board member of Gav Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park, and the CEO of the Basecamp Innovation Center, Uzy Zwebner.

The memorandum of cooperation concerns the transfer of know-how between the parties, the partnership of Greek, Israeli and international companies, cooperating with the two technology parks, the coverage of knowledge-intensive jobs, which will create as many Israeli and multinational companies will be established at Thess INTEC, and in the networking of Ben Gurion University with the Greek academic and research community.

The agreement generally provides for the encouragement of cooperation between actors with the aim of developing innovation, commercializing research activities and technological products. As the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Dimas, characteristically stated: “The cooperation is expected to yield significant benefits to the innovation ecosystems of the two countries from the synergies that can be created between institutions of the two countries such as start-ups, Research Centers and Universities.”

Earlier, Mr. Dimas visited the headquarters of CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) at the Ber Sheva Technology Park – Gav-Yam Negev. It is the center of operations that shoulder the task of digital “shielding” Israel. Beer Sheva Park is a technological marvel and an innovative achievement, where one can meet young scientists, researchers, startuppers, and even students who gather and work in the field of cybersecurity.

Today, Mr. Dimas participated as a speaker at the international cyberspace conference – Cybertech Global held in Tel Aviv with the participation of governments, businesses, startups and technology organizations from around the world, where he presented the new dynamics, extroversion, evolution and opportunities that exist today in the Greek innovation ecosystem.

“Start-ups around the world, as well as in Greece, are investing more and more in skills, but also in talents specializing in the potential of cyberspace,” said Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Christos Dimas, during his speech at International Cyberspace Conference.

“The issue of cybersecurity is now a concern for all states and businesses. Critical sectors, such as transport, energy, health and the financial sector, are increasingly dependent on digital technologies to carry out their core business. Development action in the field of cybersecurity, with the aim of building an open and secure cyberspace, can increase citizens’ trust in digital tools and services. In Greece, we now have a highly developed and competitive innovation ecosystem and the State has the opportunity, using the ideas of young entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists, to support proposals that will provide us with solutions to its challenges. of our time, “he said.
