‘Chrodophobic’ note on junk food order sparks outrage – The company’s response

One chondrophobic note received with her order of a young woman in the USA. 26-year-old Marina, known on TikTok as “awkward Marina” uploaded a video expressing herself her outrage at the chondrophobic note that her girlfriend received with her order from DoorDash – a food ordering platform.

In particular, her partner found a note in the bag that she wrote “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”.

As she says in the video, which has over 10,000 views, her girl she has health issues and was told she needs to gain weight. The order in question included a bag of cheese prawns, a beef tenderloin and a soft drink.

Marina explains that her girl can’t eat apples “so the rude note is inappropriate as well as chondrophobic.” “Is totally inappropriate, chondrophobic, discriminatory. Why judge someone you deliver food to?’ says Marina.

The company’s response

DoorDash said in New York Post that it is investigating the incident and that it is a mistake.

“We typically include thank you notes with DashMart (the DoorDash subsidiary that the girl ordered from) orders in an effort to pleasantly surprise and thank our customers,” a company spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, this customer mistakenly received the note intended for another order. We sincerely apologize for this mix-up and are working to make things right,” he added.
