One of the main innovations of Android 12, which is already leaking into AOSP, is the Material You adaptive system – thanks to it, system elements (notification shade, settings) and compatible applications are painted in the color of the wallpaper on the desktop. Google has been adapting its applications for Material You for a long time, but it is doing it gradually: before, compatibility was minimal, but with the release of beta version of Chrome 100, it seems to have become full-fledged. This was noticed by the Android Police portal.

The browser now colors the animated page reload icon and the entire three-dot menu to match the wallpaper color. For example, with yellow wallpaper, this option looks like an aggressive blue light filter, and obviously not everyone will like this solution.

But the Chrome settings, judging by the screenshots, adapt to the wallpaper not so aggressively – the subsections stand out noticeably, but the background is painted softly. Perhaps Google is still experimenting with the level of adaptation for wallpaper – after all, these changes appeared in the beta version of the browser.
