Chrome OS will soon be able to stream content from the phone

As it became known, the Chrome OS operating system will soon be able to broadcast the smartphone screen to a large display of a computer or laptop.

The ability to broadcast a smartphone screen to a monitor is a fairly popular modern feature for sharing a phone and a computer. Windows 10 includes the Your Phone app, but the list of supported devices is limited.

Back in September, a flag spotted on Chromium Gerrit confirmed that a feature called Phone Hub was in development. This feature will improve communication between Chrome OS and Android devices by allowing users to receive notifications from their Android device on a Chrome OS device. But that’s not all.

This feature will also allow users to sync Chrome tabs between the two devices, find a missing phone, turn on Do Not Disturb mode, and respond to notifications from their Chromebooks. Also Phone Hub will get a feature that displays your phone screen on a Chromebook.

It is not yet known exactly when this feature will launch, but XDA Developers believes it should arrive later this year. Some users have already started testing Phone Hub, so mass roll-out is just around the corner.
