In an effort to make their browser even more private, Google is making a small but significant change to Chrome. It concerns how the browser displays an email address on web pages. The search giant is currently working on a feature that will hide email ID on websites.
By hiding the email ID in the user interface, you can hide the address from third parties. This is handy in several cases. For example, when users share their screen with someone else and don’t want their email address to be visible. The new privacy feature will be especially useful when browsing the web in a public place.
Instead of an email ID, Chrome will display the username in the site interface elements.
At the moment, Google is testing this innovation, the corresponding option was seen in Chrome Canary. To enable it, you need to go to the hidden settings page chrome://flags and find the item “Hide non-displayable account email”. After that, you need to restart the browser.
