CIA: Decimated and in danger of running out of informants – Disclosure documents

Of great concern to US national security services is the rapid decimation of informants in foreign countries. According to her documents CIA leaked officers of the service who have been recruited abroad have been captured or killed by the dozens

A letter was sent to every CIA station and base around the world last week, according to a New York Times report citing officials who had seen the documents.

Officials have investigated dozens of cases of whistleblowers in recent years who have been killed, captured, arrested or turned into double agents.

The case comes to light of the headache that causes in the US the “Syndrome of Havana “.

The problems identified by the report

The problem, according to the report, is “shipping at all costs without security”. A fast recruitment process, excessive trust in resources and unwanted promotions are all listed as processes that need to change.

In one part of the letter, it is noted that often Agents may be promoted to hire an informant, whether or not he or she proves successfulι.

“No one is held accountable at the end of the day when things go wrong with an agent,” Douglas London, a former CIA operative, told the Times about the letter.

The warning about the alarming numbers of casualties concerns the “front line officers” and those who were directly involved in recruiting informants.
