Cid Moreira made 467 compositions and had 207 recorded recordings

The journalist Cid Moreira died, this Thursday (3), at the age of 97, due to kidney failure, in Petrópolis, Mountain Region of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to being an anchor and announcer, the São Paulo native was also a composer.

According to the Central Collection and Distribution Office (Ecad), the journalist accumulates 467 compositions and 207 recordings registered in his name.

For the most part, Cid Moreira dedicated himself to recording albums in which he narrated psalms and other excerpts from the Bible. In 2001, the journalist released a collection of 11 CDs in which he narrated the entire New Testament of the Bible.

On Spotify alone, the journalist has 209.7 thousand monthly listeners.

As informed by Ecad, your income in public performance copyrights will go to your heirs for 70 years after your death.

In a note, the office also lamented the death of Cid Moreira. “Known for his unique and unmistakable voice, he had a remarkable career in journalism and in the history of Brazilian TV over eight decades”, they mentioned.

In addition to narrating Christian texts, Cid also ventured into cinema. The São Paulo native was the narrator of the film “2 Filhos de Francisco”, from 2005. Later, in 2023, the journalist ventured into the world of dubbing and joined the team that translated the film “Tudo por um Furo” into Portuguese.
