Cillian Murphy reveals reasons for refusing to take photos with fans

Cillian Murphy has revealed why he refuses to take photos with fans.

The 47-year-old actor, who became known around the world for his role as gangster Thomas Shelby in the acclaimed series “Peaky Blinders”, and was nominated for an Oscar for his recent performance in “Oppenheimer”, reported that he prefers to have a dialogue with your admirers instead of posing for selfies.

“When I started doing this, my life changed. I just think it's more valuable to say 'hello' and chat a little. I say this to a lot of people, you know, actor friends of mine, and they're like, 'I feel so bad.' But you don't need a photographic record of every place you've visited in a day”, he confessed to “GQ”.

Cillian also explained to the vehicle that he prefers to work on just one film a year, highlighting his desire to lead “a normal life”.

“I have some friends who are actors, but most of them are not. Most of my friends are not in the business. And I think, for me, a lot of research as an actor involves just living a normal life, doing ordinary things, and just being able to observe and exist in this kind of lovely flow of humanity.”

“You can't do that because you're going from the film festival to the film set and promotions (…)'', he said.

“I'm not saying that makes him a better or worse actor, but it's just a world that I couldn't exist in. I think it would be very limiting in terms of what you can experience as a human being, you know?”, concluded Murphy.
