Cinderella Kate, the Duchess’s latest transformation on tour

Literally wearing a fabulous dress. Kate wanted to make her mark at the last reception of the Caribbean tour by transforming herself into Cinderella with her handsome prince in blue velvet beside her. On this trip to the Bahamas on behalf of the queen who in 2022 celebrates the Platinum Jubileeas befits these days, the royal couple got off an SUV and not a carriage but the wonder effect aroused by this latest look was the same.

In the column of the stylists who dress the Duchess for gala evenings, Kate added a surprise new address: Phillipa Lepley, a designer specializing in wedding dresses based in the heart of Chelsea at 48 Fulham Road. The occasion to show off such elegance was the event hosted by the Governor General of the Bahamas, Sir Cornelius Alvin Smith, at the Baha Mar Hotel in Nassau. We find that the dress labeled as Vienna Crossover Turquoise belongs to the collection of a couple of years ago. It is made with a single piece of turquoise duchess satin that has been draped across the bodice in a crisscross design. The bows on the shoulders are the signature of Phillipa Lepley.

The reference to the glamor of old Hollywood is declared, so much so that among the uncomfortable quotes for this outfit we read the name of Grace Kelly in the dress signed by costume designer Helen Rose to collect the Oscar. The path that led Kate to Phillipa Lepley is not known. We know about the stylist that, after having studied at the London College of Fashion, she began working with brides in 1987 in a small atelier in South Kensington and that everything she creates is made in England. His creations are sought after by aristocratic London.

Only in 2021 did his signature appear in the chronicles that told about the weddings of Lady Charlotte Lindesay-Bethune who married a prince in Palermo Jaime of Bourbon-Two Sicilies in Sicily e Flora OgilvyPrincess Alexandra’s niece and cousin of Harry and William, married to Timothy Vesterberg. She defines herself as a perfectionist and is not afraid to declare that her desire is to “make the most beautiful dresses in the world”. We do not know the whole world but one can reasonably think so about the Bahamas for one night.

Kate’s Cinderella look was completed with a pair of shoes that in the description have the stated intent that is to look like the shoes of the fairytale princess. Land silver pumps by Gianvito Rossi they are not made of crystal but of suede and mesh embellished with Swarovski. No precious loan from the queen this time around but a pair of earrings and a necklace from the series Magic Alhambra by Van Cleef & Arpels they enriched the outfit. The jewelry was first spotted at the 2020 BAFTAs, just days after Kate’s birthday.

Given that his father-in-law Carlo and his wife Camilla are big fans of the maison especially of that collection, we could also think that it is a gift from them. That crafty Kate even in the glitz (only the shoes cost almost 2 thousand euros) manages to insert that element cheap within everyone’s reach, mixing it very well with the rest. The pochette called Hayworth in honor of Rita of sea blue satin Lulu Guinness before this appearance it was discounted on the site and could be taken home with 68 pounds (from the initial 225). Needless to say, there is no trace of it anymore.

Our parents’ day had begun under a veritable tropical storm. For a visit to a school, a parade and to meet health workers at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kate chose a mint green designer chiffon dress Self-Portrait and a couple of Jimmy Choo white. The earrings are the piece to highlight. I am a gold plated silver creation of Nadia Irenaa Bahamian designer who learned the trade and Florence and then to Istanbul, to decide to return to her hometown in 2002 and launch a jewelry brand.

The dukes later showed themselves in their version sporty Cambridges for the Platinum Jubilee regatta in Montagu Beach. To go boating, Kate put on a polo shirt from a technical brand Gill Marinethe classic white Superga and a Tribord sailing jacket from Decathlon from less than 30 euros. It is still available on the site and the season is good: a shopping tip to imitate the style sailing of the duchess (also) sailor.
