Developers and customers can use their Circle accounts and the Circle API to access USDC on the BASE network.
“Circle accounts and the Circle API are fully supported by BASE USDC, making it easier to access stablecoin liquidity and benefit from the expansion of the BASE network. Integration simplifies the process of including USDC in transactions, provides a smoother operation for participants in the network ecosystem, and does not require the use of inter-network bridges,” the company said in an official statement.
Circle clarified that the launch of USDC on BASE was part of a larger plan to expand the availability of the stablecoin to more blockchains. In particular, we are talking about the future launch of USD Coin in Optimism and Cosmos networks.
Earlier, the processing company Visa announced plans to accelerate international transactions using the USDC stablecoin, and it is planned to use the Solana blockchain for transactions.
