Citibank fires executive over anti-Semitic comment – ‘No wonder Hitler wanted to get rid of them all’

THE Citibank fired one of its executives after, on the occasion of his hammering Israel at Gaza Stripposted a comment on Instagram which applauded the Nazi mass extermination of Jews during the Holocaust.

“No wonder why Hitler wanted to get rid of them all”, Nozima Husainova wrote on Instagram, accompanying a comment with a smiley emoji. Her comment has been deleted, as have the 25-year-old’s Instagram and other social media accounts.

The post was brought to light by the non-profit organization Stop Antisemitism, which also posted a photo of her Instagram profile, which had more than 4,500 followers.

Husainova’s comment was posted in response to a post about bombing of the hospital in Gaza. The investment bank confirmed to New York Post that Husainova was fired after the remark.

“We have removed the person who made the outrageous anti-Semitic comment on social media. We condemn anti-Semitism and all hate speech and do not tolerate it at our bank,” a Citi spokesperson said.

Nozima Husainova, 25, recently graduated with a degree in finance and had only worked at Citi for two years. Following news of her firing, StopAntisemitism posted on X : “Thank you Citi for saying ‘NO!’ to anti-Semitism,” while other users expressed their gratitude that the bank “did the right thing.”
