Innovation in the Araguaia Valley
In the Araguaia Valley, in Goiás, a region with more than 100 thousand inhabitants, the protein production chain is leading a technological revolution that transforms the sustainable development of communities.
Mozarlândia, a city with 15,870 inhabitants, is a clear example of how innovation can reconfigure agriculture and expand horizons of opportunities. The municipality stands out thanks to the presence of JBS, an essential pillar for the economy of the entire region.
The JBS unit in the city generates 2,500 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs. It also has strategic partnerships involving 1,500 rural producers, most of whom invest in technological innovation to transform the region’s agribusiness. In the state, the company is present in 7 cities, with 19 operations and more than 6,000 employees, contributing 2.53% of Goiás’ GDP, according to data from Fipe.
Successful Partnerships
Fabiano Rodrigues da Cunha Araújo, veterinarian and manager of Fazenda Nova Esperança in Nova Crixás, highlights the importance of JBS: “An industry that brings markets, invests in innovation and good products, like JBS, is essential to bring quality meat to consumers and open markets for local production”.
In recent years, agribusiness has undergone major changes, especially with the implementation of technologies that increase productivity and efficiency in resource management. For Fabiano, technology provides predictability, allowing production and sales planning based on accurate data, strengthening the partnership with JBS. “With automation, we can monitor the efficiency of processing and production costs on a daily basis, allowing for more precise management and quick decision-making,” he explains.
Sérgio Pellizzer, CEO of Fazenda Conforto, one of JBS’s main supplier farms, also highlights the role of technology: “We like to say that Conforto is a large living lab. When you use technology to develop further and generate business opportunities, it becomes a critical success factor for your operation.”
Sérgio sees JBS’s growth as a great incentive for rural producers: “It is a company that is pulsating, that is experiencing this growth and they are able to pass this on to their partners. This need to create and develop a quality product means that we are preparing to produce higher quality meat, a larger volume of this cattle, according to the market’s needs.”
The long-standing partnership between JBS and producers like Fabiano and Sérgio exemplifies how successful alliances can transform the productivity and sustainability of fields.
