The City of São Paulo will expand vaccination against influenza from Monday (19). The action that fights the influenza causing virus, carried out through the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), will be made available to the entire population from six months of age.
According to the municipal secretary of health, Luiz Carlos Zamarco, in addition to protection against flu, immunization also prevents the worsening of respiratory diseases.
According to SMS, the population can be vaccinated in all 479 Basic Health Units (UBSS), and in outpatient medical assists (AMAS), from Monday to Saturday.
In 2025, the immunization campaign began on March 28. The priority were mainly people over 60, children from 6 months to children under 6, pregnant women, postpartums and people with chronic diseases, indigenous peoples, quilombolas and homeless people.
Until May this year, vaccination coverage in the state capital is 25% among the priority public. Already in 2024, the coverage between the priority groups was 61.11%.
