The city hall of Gramado, in Rio Grande do Sul, declared a state of calamity this Friday morning (24). Last Thursday (23), a building collapsed in the Três Pinheiros neighborhood. Houses, streets and entire neighborhoods in the municipality were closed after cracks appeared caused by intense rain.
In a press conference, Nestor Tissot (PP), mayor of Gramado, reported that 526 people are outside their homes, of which 62 were sent to shelters. Residents will probably be able to pick up their belongings quickly this Friday.
The expectation is that from Monday (27), residents will be able to return to their homes. The affected neighborhoods: Piratini, Caboclo, Viação Férrea, Três Pinheiros, Planalto remain surrounded.
The mayor also said that for prevention, they mapped all projects that have explosion activity, both for building and road constructions and suspended the licenses, until they know that this is not affecting the stability of the soil.

Residents of a condominium in the Planalto neighborhood have been out of their homes since Saturday (18) due to the risk of landslides, the city hall said in a statement.
