The governor of Ukraine’s Chernihiv region said the city is “suffering heavy losses” under systematic attacks by Russian forces. “Only on Wednesday (16), 53 bodies of our citizens killed by the Russian attacker arrived at the local morgue,” Vyacheslav Chaus reported on Telegram.
Located close to Kiev and the Russian border, the city has its functioning threatened by the attacks: “the enemy continues with artillery and systematic air strikes in our regional center, destroying the civil infrastructure”, he added.
Russia denies it is attacking civilian targets.
President Zelesnky also accused the Russians of an attack on people who were in line to buy bread, leaving 10 dead. Also according to Zelesnky, this Wednesday (16) Russia did not allow the operation of humanitarian corridors.
