The series “City of God: The Fight Does Not Stop” inspired by the award-winning Brazilian film from the 2000s, has a release date. The new production will have six episodes and will feature part of the original cast, as well as flashbacks with scenes from the classic feature film.
“City of God: The Fight Does Not Stop” arrives on the streaming platform Max (formerly HBO Max) at 9pm on August 25th. The production will release one episode per week, every Sunday, until September 29th.
The production is an adapted continuation of the writer’s literary work Paulo Lins and will tell the story of its characters, taking as a starting point the work of a photographer from Buscapé. In the plot, the community ravaged by the dispute between drug traffickers, police and militiamen experiences a perspective of collective resistance.
The series also features excerpts from the film in flashbacks to reconstruct the protagonists’ memories and emotional memories.
Names like Alexandre Rodrigues , Thiago Martins , Roberta Rodrigues , Sabrina Rose , Kiko Marques It is Edson Oliveira return to the universe. The cast is also made up of new talents from communities in Rio de Janeiro, such as Cidade de Deus, Vidigal and Mangueira.
