A proposal for a diversion route to the crater opened on Marginal Tietê after the collapse of the subway works, on Tuesday (1st), was published this Wednesday (2nd) in the Official Gazette of the municipality of São Paulo, which also brought the creation of a committee to investigate the causes of the incident.
According to the proposal, the driver who travels on the local lane of Marginal Tietê towards Ayrton Senna would have to divert to Rua Aquinos at the time of the collapse, go through a new route suggested by the plan and return to the Marginal straight ahead.
This Wednesday, the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), authorized that “the necessary measures for the implementation, in an emergency, of the presented contingency road plans”, including the “administrative request of private areas” that are in the way of the future new way.
Nunes estimates that the works to contain the increase in the crater and the leakage of the sewage duct, which invaded works on the subway line 6-Orange, could take ten days.
The rotation of vehicles is suspended in the capital until Friday (4), and there is total opening only of the express lane so far.
The Official Gazette of the municipality also recorded the creation of an executive committee, formed together with the Secretariats of Metropolitan Transport and Infrastructure and Environment, to “follow up the investigation of the facts and responsibilities related to the accident that occurred in the works of Line 6 – Orange of the Metro, monitor compliance with the necessary measures and ensure the transparency of the measures adopted, with information for the entire population”.
The committee is authorized to assess damage caused by the incident and propose suggestions with other bodies, including private concessionaires — in the case of Line 6-Orange, the company responsible for the construction consortium is Italian Acciona.
The committee should publish periodic reports on the progress of the work and, at the end, present a final analysis “of the results of the diligences and expertise produced and the measures taken”.
