The Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo issued an alert on Monday (20) for the occurrence of intense heat and rapid and isolated rain showers, characteristic of summer, throughout the week.
Authorities predict that until Wednesday (22), the sun will predominate, with temperatures reaching up to 38°C, especially in the North and West regions of the state.
On Sunday (19), Baixada Santista, on the coast of São Paulo, recorded the highest temperature of the year, reaching 38°C.
For this Tuesday (21), the forecast is that thermometers will reach 36°C in the region.
In the capital of São Paulo and the metropolitan region, temperatures are expected to reach 34°C, as well as in the regions of São José dos Campos and Marília.
Warning for isolated rain
Despite the intense heat, isolated rain is expected, which may be accompanied by lightning and even hail.
Civil Defense warns of the possible disruptions caused by these precipitations, even if they are short-lived, as they tend to generate significant problems in the state of São Paulo.
The authorities reinforce the importance of taking care in the heat, recommending that the population stays well hydrated during these days of high temperatures.
