The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul arrested a man suspected of pedophilia this Tuesday (21), in the city of Taquara.
According to police information, the suspect used a fake profile on Instagram, posing as a child, to make contact with other minors.
The suspect gained the trust of the victims, and requested intimate photos, guiding them on how they should be taken, and threatened to release the material if they refused to cooperate.
The action, which mobilized a team from the General Institute of Expertise, aimed to collect essential technical evidence for the investigation of an ongoing police investigation.
During the operation, police officers executed a search and seizure warrant at the suspect’s residence.
At the scene, technical expertise found a folder containing photos of the victim that began the investigation, in addition to more than 800 folders with images of other victims, all identified by name.
All seized material was sent for expert analysis to continue the investigations.
The suspect was arrested in the act and, after the usual procedures, he was sent for a medical examination and registration at the Taquara Emergency Department.

During the investigation, they were also seized exotic reptiles imported, the legality of which will be verified by the DEIC/PCRS Environmental Department.

The Taquara Civil Police carries out a “alert to the importance of supervision of children and adolescents by parents and responsible people on social networks, in order to prevent victims about this criminal practice”.
