Civil police from the 27th Police Station (Vicente de Carvalho), with support from the Capital Police General Department (DGPC) and the Special Resources Coordination (Core), hold on Wednesday morning (16) a operation in the Para-Pedro community, in Irajá in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The action is part of the continuity of Operation Containment and aims to comply with arrest warrants issued by the court against members of a criminal organization acting in the region.
The investigated faction is responsible for several crimes, including drug trafficking, theft, illegal possession of firearms and homicides. According to investigations, the group had been imposing a routine of terror on local residents, raising barricades on public roads, exploring basic community services and trying to invade rival territories, such as the oath community.
The oath community is controlled by the Red Command (CV), and the criminals sought by the police belong to the Third Pure Command (TCP) which tries to invade the territory.
During the action, in addition to the search for the fugitives, agents also acted in the checking intelligence information about places used to hide weapons, drugs and theft products. The operation also aims at the recovery of vehicles and stolen cargo.
So far, four criminals have been arrested. Also seized narcotics, pistols, transmitting radios and ballistic vests.
The Civil Police reported that investigations are ongoing and new actions are not ruled out. The presence of the police force on site continues throughout the day to ensure safety and stability in the region.
