Civil Police indict professor for sexual crimes at university in MG

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PC-MG) concluded this Friday (24) the investigations and indicted a professor at the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes) for sexual crimes against female students at the institution.

The investigation pointed out that the 46-year-old man approached the students suggesting methods to combat stress, such as hypnosis sessions and massages. According to what was released by PC-MG in a note, some reported being gagged, blindfolded and tied up by him in a BDSM practice (Bondage, Discipline, Domination, Submission, Sadism), and stated that sessions took place within the university.

The investigation began with a complaint made by the coordinator of the History course at the Specialized Police for Assistance to Women (Deam), when she presented a report that raised possible crimes against sexual freedom committed by a teacher against ten students and former students of that course. He was removed through an ordinance of the educational institution itself.

According to delegate Karine Maia, the reports of five victims provide sufficient evidence to prove the materiality, circumstances and authorship of the crime. “He was indicted five times for sexual harassment, twice for photographing or recording nudity scenes, in addition to libidinous acts”, she described.

Still according to Maia, the victims stated that the teacher was manipulative and played games of seduction, taking advantage of the position of power to embarrass and coerce female students.

The police inquiry was forwarded to the local forum and is available to the Justice.
