The São Paulo Civil Police seized 70 firearms belonging to Thiago Brennand during an operation carried out by agents of the 15th DP (Itaim-Bibi) this Friday morning (17) in Atibaia, in the interior of the state. According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the weaponry was illegal, since the Army in September suspended the 42-year-old businessman’s registration certificate as a CAC (an acronym for hunters, shooters and collectors).
On the 8th, Thiago Brennand had his fourth preventive detention decreed by the Justice of São Paulo, this time based on the accusation of rape made by medical student Stefanie Cohen, 30 years old. He is investigated for having doped and raped the woman in a hotel in the capital of São Paulo, in October 2021.
Brennand had the first arrest warrant issued after becoming a defendant for the assault on model Helena Gomes, at a gym in São Paulo. In the same process, he was accused of corruption of minors for having encouraged his son to verbally assault the model.
The businessman had new arrest warrants issued after kidnapping, keeping in private prison and tattooing a woman in Porto Feliz (SP), as well as for the rape of another woman. He is a defendant in other lawsuits for assaults and injuries against men.
The businessman is on the run and his extradition process has been going on for more than four months. He has not returned to Brazil since September 2022, when he traveled on the eve of having his first arrest decreed.
Located and arrested in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, Brennand paid bail and is awaiting the processing of the extradition process. The extradition request was formalized with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates four months ago and has since been processed in that country’s courts.
