Wagner Moura and his new film, “Civil War”, which premieres this Thursday (18) in Brazil, have pleased the public and international critics. But it's not just the Brazilian's performance that made the news, even his “sensuality” gained prominence.
The website The Daily Beast spoke about the Brazilian heartthrob and stated that Moura “has a history of inciting passions for characters where you would never expect”, recalling his role in the series “Narcos”, where he played the drug lord Pablo Escobar, and now as the journalist Joel, in “Civil War”.
The film, which also stars Kirsten Dunst, shows the United States devastated by a civil war, highlighting polarization, extremism and fanaticism. In this context, Joel (Wagner Moura) and photographer Lee (Kirsten Dunst) travel the country recording the tragedy.
“But when Moura is wearing his tiny blue t-shirt, it's hard to care [com os assuntos centrais do filme]”, highlights the publication, which continues: “I refuse to question something when the result is so beautiful”.
“Is it basic to be fascinated by a mustachioed, boastful man, whose biceps bulge beneath his T-shirt and who mocks danger while a cigarette dangles from his mouth and a bottle of whiskey dangles from his hip? Totally and completely”, he concludes.
