Claire Foy and Olivia Colman of ‘The Crown’ reflect on the Queen’s legacy

Claire Foy and Olivia Colman who interpreted the queen elizabeth II in “The Crown”, shared their thoughts on the late monarch’s legacy.

Claire spoke to the BBC at the Toronto International Film Festival on Wednesday praising the Queen for her life’s work.

“I think she was an amazing monarch,” he said. “She brought people together and was a great symbol of continuity, dignity and grace.”

The actress, who played the queen in the first two seasons of the series Netflix who covered from 1947 to 1964, added that she was “honored” to have portrayed her.

“My main feeling is just thinking of her as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, really,” she said. “I am so honored to have been a small part of her story.”

Olivia Colman, who played the queen in seasons 3 and 4, covering 1964 to 1976, spoke to “Variety” at the festival, saying the queen led her life with dignity.

“She made a promise when she was young and absolutely fulfilled it with such dignity,” she said. “We are all incredibly impressed with what she has done.”

Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth died “peacefully” at age 96 on September 8. She assumed the title in 1952.

Seasons 1-4 of “The Crown” are available on Netflix. In recent weeks, the series has had a significant increase in audience, being among the most watched on the platform.
