Class 4 was reinforced by Hurricane Eric heading to Mexico – Warning by President Seinbaum

The National Hurricane Center in Miami warned on Wednesday that Hurricane Eric, which was formed in the Pacific Ocean, was reinforced in category 4 of the five-scale Safir-Simson as it approaches the coast of Mexico. Eric is heading to the southwestern coast of Mexico with winds that may reach 230 kilometers per hour, according to the NHC. The hurricane was 110 kilometers from the coast of the Oaxaca State shortly before 09:00 in the morning. Eric is expected to arrive in Mexico on Wednesday night to Thursday, local time, somewhere between the states of Osaca and Guerrero. The hurricane is accompanied by “possibly devastating winds” that could cause “sudden floods, possibly murderous, in some areas of South Mexico,” the NHC had warned earlier.
