The municipality also prevented 300 mattresses, 200 personal hygiene kits, 200 cleaning kits and 500 water bales to face strong temporal.
“We are working in advance, with prevention, to offer a faster and more qualified response if we detect consequences in the municipality because of the rains,” said Mayor Claudio Feerreti.
The City of Petrópolis pointed out that the decision to expand the suspension of classes to an optional point refers to flooding and landslides in the city, but that essential services should continue.
“Emergency health care will be maintained throughout the Municipality, as well as the normal operation of Comdep, Petropolitan Traffic and Transport Company (CPTrans), Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), Social Assistance, Civil Defense and other bodies involved in coping with rainfall,” confirmed the municipality in a statement.
