Claudia Alencar spends her birthday in hospital; report indicates rapid recovery

The actress Claudia Alencar who turns 74 this Friday (12), presented thrombosis in the legs . On June 14, the artist underwent new spinal surgery at Hospital Samaritano in Rio.

According to the medical report, made available by the artist’s press office to CNN two weeks ago, Alencar returned to Hospital Placi Barra – where he is undergoing a rehabilitation and pain control program.

“Actress Claudia Alencar underwent new spinal surgery on June 14th at Hospital Samaritano Barra due to reactivation of pain. She was readmitted 2 weeks ago to Hospital Placi Barra for a new rehabilitation and pain control program. She has been recovering well and can now walk without assistance. Two days ago, venous thrombosis was detected in her leg, without any complications, but requiring anticoagulation, rest and suspension of the rehabilitation program, which will be resumed as soon as the edema subsides,” says an excerpt from the bulletin.

“Due to the success of the new surgical intervention and excellent progress in rehabilitation, the expectation of recovery from this new hospitalization will be faster, allowing her to return home in a much shorter period of time. Claudia is in good spirits and very cooperative with the recovery program,” he concludes.

Remember what happened

In December, the actress was hospitalized due to a bacterial infection, and was also diagnosed with anemia and required a blood transfusion. After the first treatment, Claudia underwent spinal surgery and had complications during her recovery, ending up on mechanical ventilation in a serious condition.

Months later, in March, she was transferred to a transition and extensive care hospital, the Placi Barra Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. According to the institution’s medical report, released at the time of admission, the actress underwent a “program for pain control and recovery of muscle strength, walking with the expectation of achieving goals in less than 30 days.”

In the statement issued by the hospital announcing Claudia Alencar’s discharge, it was reported that the actress had regained her motor independence, being able to carry out her daily activities.

“Currently, Ms. Claudia is independent from a motor and functional point of view, without motor sequelae, and is able to carry out her daily life and physical activities,” the statement said.
