THE Bill Clinton spoke at an event in New York and claimed that he had known since 2011 that Mr Vladimir Putin is going to invade the Ukrainebecause he disagreed with the prevailing situation.
As stated by theguardian.comthe former US president said he had a conversation with the Russian president in 2011 on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos
“Putin had told me that he does not agree with the agreement I made with Yeltsin and that he had not passed the agreement through Parliament,” he said characteristically.
“I don’t agree, I don’t support it and I’m not bound by it,” Putin said, according to Clinton.
According to the publication, the former US president referred to the Budapest Memorandum which guaranteed the territorial integrity of Ukraine, while Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan had to hand over their nuclear arsenal to Russia in exchange for respecting the borders.
