«Clio Back Home», comes the docu-series that tells the return to Italy of the beauty influencer

Last March, the influencer from Belluno, Clio Zammatteo, pregnant with her second daughter, for fear of the reaction of the Americans to the coronavirus emergency, announced to leave the city of New York and return to Italy. A choice that she explained, in tears, to her 3.1 million followers in a story on Instagram.

Clio then set foot in Italy on September 2, 2020, with her husband, Claudio and daughters, Grace and Joy, following.

The change of nation has taken place after ten years spent in his beloved New York, where Clio Zammatteo, invented a job, that of make-up blogger, becoming the most famous beauty influencer in Italy.

The moments of her relocation to Italy, accompanied by her family, arrive on TV from 3 September, one year after her return to Italy, as if to celebrate an anniversary. The exclusive program only on Discovery + is a docu-series in 10 episodes «Clio Back Home“, produced by Fighting Fish per Discovery Italia.

We reached her on the phone and she told us about her new adventure.

What is the message you want to launch with the program?
«Go ahead, try to make your dreams come true. And then I would like to communicate emotions and the fact that even without great means it can be done. It will be a different program than usual, it is not Clio that does make-up videotutorials, but you will see how a company is built, the behind the scenes of our activities, how ideas are born, the problems that may be encountered will also emerge. The people who help me will be seen, they will finally come out too. Usually I am seen as an influencer but I am not only this, you can attend my daily challenges, to take videos or photos, but also to run the company “.

So will the entrepreneur Clio be the protagonist?
“No only, but the whole business. Including the slice of marketing that is done on social media, which is not necessary, but certainly helps. In my case, in particular, if there were no social networks I would not be here. That’s what made the difference, before investing in the company I waited to create a large community ».

What was the best part of the shoot?
«Finally not to be alone but to work with my team, for once all the pressure was not only on me, and it clearly emerges that it’s not just me. I put my face to it, but my sister-in-law, CEO of the Company, and Claudio, my husband are the people who have allowed me to move forward, without them Clio would have remained stuck at the video tutorials and now I feel it is right to give them credit . They are the creative part, as far as the cosmetic line is concerned, but you have to have a lot of luck and find the right people to help you make the leap. I have found them ».

What does it take to keep going?
“You have to be very flexible, before I was thinking about ideas for making video tutorials, now working on many fronts I have to think about how to promote my line, what developments to follow up, to create stories for my company or for an external one, there is no one day is never the same as another. In the future I will continue to mix everything between my videos and the development of my products and if there are other opportunities on TV, for other series, I will be interested ».

How did the idea for the docu-series come about?
“We wanted the part that wasn’t just make-up to emerge and precisely during the pandemic we decided to tell a positive story and let a different Clio speak”.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
«They come from the community, I try to understand what is missing and listen to every comment. Then I often put myself in the shoes of those who follow me and think about what I would like to see if I were them. This happened for example with my food path that I decided to share with a video that could help people. If I can send a message, starting from my experience, I try to do it ».

What is the balance after a year of living in Italy?
“I miss my routine in New York City a bit, I’ve been there so long it’s obvious that I miss you, but in Italy I’m fine, this year I’ve worked like never before, the girls are very happy and we’re all more happy to be reunited with our families “
