ClioMakeUp, the secrets of her success as an entrepreneur

The community of Girls Restart he chose ClioMakeUp as the godmother of an event dedicated to female entrepreneurship. Girls Restart is a spontaneous movement, a female network, based on voluntary mentorship, an offer of sisterhood between female managers at different levels, both in the corporate and independent world, in support of the professionalism of all.

During the digital event, LockDown Dream Up – Women Ready for Tomorrow, to be held on July 13 from 6 pm live on Instagram, will be presented the results of the observatory on women in the world of work, research conducted by Lattanzio Kibs Study Center and promoted by GirlsRestart together with Clio Zammatteo. Just connect to these two profiles to follow it.

Among the topics that will be dealt with is how women have worked in this year and a half of the pandemic, what resources they have drawn on, how they have balanced the work and private spheres, with the restart, what they have changed in the work-life balance. The desire to discover oneself in a new professional role was traced, to grow and realize new dreams.

What emerged is that there is a need for social support that accompanies people in the realization of their personal and professional goals: the network. Furthermore, a new paradigm has emerged for women, growth, career, family, which cannot ignore the request for help. Women have learned, some more and some less, to ask.

The answers were found by consulting a panel of 420 women who observed themselves and who were monitored, giving rise to a research that aims to be a stimulus to the world of work.

The story of Clio that from the dream dimension has become a company, surrounding itself with the right skills – for her the strategic one of her sister-in-law, Elena Midolo, CEO of ClioMakeUp and with a PhD in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research, was considered exemplary .

Clio had the courage to open the drawer and make his dreams come true, thanks to Elena Midolo he gave substance to his project and deployed his knowledge in terms of people management, creating a company size of over 50 people.

We talked about it with Clio Zammatteo.

What helped her in making her dream come true?
“Surely the fact that I asked for help from the people I had close to me, my husband Claudio and my sister-in-law Elena, when I realized that what I was doing could become great and I didn’t have the competence made the difference. Then I have always given importance to the community and worked for the community, without making fun of it. The quality of the content has always been the basis of my work. When people look at me they trust me, I worked so hard over the years to get there, I had to give it a try because when I started whoever looked at me through the screen could feel a moment of coldness and I managed to break it, trying everything on my skin. Truth, concrete advice and authenticity are among the things that made it all work. “

Your advice for women who are forced or want a change in their workplace?

“This has been a difficult time, but it has given us the opportunity to look within and leave behind what was negative in our life. Sometimes we cling to the idea of a permanent job because it gives us an economic guarantee at the end of the month, but giving space to the possibility of understanding what we want to do can make us open towards new horizons and realize that if we do not do it in this life when it is the right moment? I am to try, always ».

How to understand that the idea is right?
«The right idea is to identify the empty niche, where something is missing. If people are looking for that thing and you can offer it, it is the signal. When I started the video tutorials on Youtube, there were no simple make-up tips. And then it is important to always do what makes us happy. It is true that this is easier said than done, there are always risks, but now is a lucky time because the web is as strong as it has ever been. Today, even without TV and without a budget, you can reach many people with that right idea ».

There are not only “highs”, but also “lows”. What advice would you give to deal with them?

“People only see the result but if you think about what happened two nights ago, that after a minute from the start of the match Italy was at a disadvantage, they were always down by a goal, but then they managed to win, it is understood that one must never give up. There are moments in which we feel disheartened, but if we manage to overcome them by putting in the effort we can get to anything ».

How to face the fear of not making it?

«Just think that if you haven’t tried and you haven’t had the courage to throw yourself in just out of fear, you will never find out what you could have achieved. The worst thing that can happen is having to get involved again. It is true you need to calculate the savings you have, how much to invest and have a small cushion on which to fall, for example the support of the family, which makes you more serene ».

How important is it in this context to have a business plan, this term that often inspires fear? He answers the question Elena Midolo, CEO of ClioMakeUp and sister-in-law of Clio Zammatteo.

«The secret dream or the note on the handkerchief must be brought out, and to do so it is true that a strategy that is proportionate is needed. Sometimes I support Clio with tools that somehow shape and enable its vision.

But before getting to the business plan it’s better to have a vision and then find the instructions for using a good idea.

Because if you don’t know how to manipulate it, how to put it into practice, you don’t get much progress. But we are still talking about a dimension to be fully expressed, to explode, not an artificial idea and a bursar ».

The important message for all women that emerges from this observatory is that we must not keep the brake on, and crystallize in the idea “I see myself this way and I stay like this”. If Clio had done so she would have remained a youtuber like when she was born in 2008, but she thought of herself in perspective and her dreams evolved with her. After all, don’t you say “dreams are made for brave people, for everyone else there is a drawer”?
