Growth in cloud infrastructure services in China continued to outpace growth in the rest of the world, according to Canalys. This is facilitated by support from the government, which has given cloud services a strategic priority. Key factors driving investment in this segment include rapid economic growth and increased focus on digital transformation following the COVID-19 pandemic. China is now second only to the United States in spending on cloud services, accounting for 14% of the global market, up from 12% in the first quarter of 2020.

The largest cloud providers in China are Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Baidu AI Cloud. At the same time, the share of Alibaba Cloud is almost 40%. The distribution of the market is clearly shown in the diagram:
