CNBB: He was a Pope of reconciliation, the world, the people, the countries

The National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) stated that the Pope Francis He marked his pontificate for the approach with the pains of humanity and the appreciation of historically marginalized groups.

“He was a Pope of reconciliation, the world, the people, the countries. He brought what was his own Christian, did with mastery. He made us reflect on we became more human,” said the CNBB Secretary General Dom Ricardo Hoepers at a press conference this Monday (21).

According to him, the pontiff was a leader of reconciliation, who helped humanity reflect on how to become more fraternal. For Dom Ricardo, the Pope’s attention to minorities and human dignity expresses the central proposals of the Gospel.

Hoepers also highlighted Francisco’s unpublished performance in promoting women within the church structure.

“It was beautiful to see the Pope highlighting women in positions that had never happened. The church wants to value the human person without prejudice and seeking dignity,” he said.
