The Inspector General of Justice, Minister Mauro Campbell, requested the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to share all the evidence of the “Última Ratio” operation, launched this Thursday (24) by the Federal Police against judges from Mato Grosso do Sul. South.
“After sharing, an administrative procedure will be opened at the National Council of Justice to analyze possible involvement of magistrates. If signs of irregularity are identified, the necessary measures will be adopted to preserve the jurisdiction of Mato Grosso do Sul”, informed the National Council of Justice (CNJ) in a note.
This Thursday, the PF executed 44 search and seizure warrants issued by the STJ against five TJMS judges suspected of selling sentences, money laundering and extortion.
By the decision of the STJ, to which the CNN had access, the following judges were removed from office for 180 days:
- Sérgio Fernandes Martins; president of TJMS
- Sideni Soncini Pimentel; future president of TJMS
- Vladimir Abreu Da Silva; future vice president of TJMS
- Alexandre Aguiar Bastos;
- Marcos José de Brito Rodrigues.
Magistrates must also wear electronic ankle bracelets and not maintain contact with other people being investigated.
In the investigation, the PF says that the president of the TJMS bought cars and cattle with cash. On the pages of the report, there are prints of conversations, telematic breaches of confidentiality and purchase invoices from 2017 to this year.
The Vice-Presidency of TJMS commented on the operation in a note.
“The Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul hereby informs the public that Minister Francisco Falcão, of the Superior Court of Justice, within the scope of the investigation taking place in that Court, which is still confidential, determined measures aimed exclusively at some judges, magistrates and employees of this Court, which are being regularly complied with, without prejudice to any of the judicial services provided to the population and which do not in any way affect the other members and components of the Mato Grosso do Sul Justice”.
