CNN Brasil exclusively shows special documentaries produced by CNN Americana

THE CNN Brazil brings, on the next Sundays, always at 9 pm, four major international productions, highlighting historical and contemporary issues.

“Inside the Mind of Vladimir Putin”, which will be shown this Sunday (17), at 9 pm, shows the influence and political career of the president of Russia, who has become a real enigma for the whole world and who, due to the war with Ukraine, is as never before present in the international media.

Produced by journalist and anchor of CNN Fareed Zakaria, the special report profiled the man who, since the days of the KGB secret service, has been a prominent personality in one of the most influential and now feared countries in the world.

On the 24th, the “Rodney King Case: 30 years later” brings details about the police approach that resulted in the beating of a black citizen in 1992. After the trial that cleared the agents, there was a series of fires, looting and attacks that left Los Angeles, in the United States, immersed in chaos, with dozens of people dead.

In six days of protests, the balance was 55 dead, about 2,000 injured and more than US$ 1 billion in economic losses, generating what became known as the “LA Riots” (Los Angeles Race Riots). The production investigated how aggressive policing, failed institutions and entrenched racism were the driving forces behind the five days of protests.

The documentary is authored by one of the leading political commentators of the CNN Van Jones, and retraced the steps of the investigation through interviews with the main names in the case, bringing a powerful experience back to the streets 30 years later.

On the 31st, the anchor of CNN Anderson Cooper presents the story of a Ukrainian mother who lives the Russian invasion with three young children. “A Mother’s War Diary” shows the struggle for survival amid Russian attacks.

The special report offers an exclusive and revealing document. They are the backstage of the conflict, from a different perspective, with images recorded by her own mother, of the daily life of uncertain bombings that generate despair.

On August 7, also at 9 pm, “Saudi Arabia: The Kingdom of Secrets” will air. The documentary is by anchor Fareed Zakaria, an expert in international relations, who investigates the country where women are treated as “property”; music and movies are bad – until a new crown prince brings unimaginable freedoms.

It is a country that still has a dark side – that of a regime that promotes the death of possible dissidents. The special and unprecedented production on Brazilian television addresses the troubled relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia, from 9/11 to the present day.
