US Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will hold their first joint interview with CNN this Thursday (29), as Democrats work to build excitement among their base following the Democratic National Convention held last week.
The interview will be conducted by Dana Bash, anchor of CNN, and will air at 10:00 p.m. ET (9:00 p.m. ET).
This comes as the candidates make their way through the state of Georgia, and marks the first time Kamala Harris will do an in-depth, on-the-record interview with a journalist since President Joe Biden dropped out of his re-election bid.
The 37 days since Kamala’s candidacy began have generated a wave of enthusiasm and momentum for the vice president. However, the lack of a formal press conference or interview has drawn criticism from Republican rivals.
Thursday’s interview fulfills a promise she made in early August to schedule a conversation before the end of the month.
