This Saturday (22) at 21:45, the CNN Original Series continues to explore wine production in Portugal. In the second episode of the series “Wines of Portugal: Tradition and Modernity”, Elisa Veeck visits Dão, in the center of the country, one of the first demarcated regions for non-liqueur wines in Portugal, at the foot of Serra da Estrela.
Known as the “Portuguese Burgundy” because of the high quality of the wine produced, the region has a climate, soil and terrain conducive to producing wines with more complex and delicate aromas.
The wines are always well accompanied by cheeses, which are also part of the specialties of the place. The “Serra da Estrela”, which bears the same name as the region where it is produced, is produced exclusively with raw milk from Bordaleira sheep and is known worldwide.
Presenter Elisa Veeck visits the Caminhos Cruzados, Lusovini, Quinta dos Carvalhais and Textura Wines wineries.
THE CNN Original Series airs on Saturdays at 9:45 pm.
