With the victory, the former president won 59 delegates, totaling 1,144. Trump needs 1,215 delegates to mathematically guarantee the Republican nomination.
The result could come out this Tuesday (12), as the states of Mississippi, Hawaii and Washington vote in the Republican primaries.
Biden wins number of delegates needed to be presidential candidate
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, won this Tuesday (12) the necessary number of delegates to be the presidential candidate for the Democratic party this year. He surpassed the 1,968 delegate mark.
Biden's candidacy will only be made official in August, when the Democratic National Convention will take place.
