CNN’s international correspondent Clarissa Ward this Saturday (5th) followed the departure of Ukrainian citizens amid a destroyed site in the Kiev region, capital of Ukraine.
The footage shows a destroyed tip and an overturned car as people, including children and the elderly, try to cross the rubble with the help of Ukrainian military personnel. They carry bags, some belongings and pets, and the reporter herself even helps some elderly people to cross the place.
The correspondent also reports that many Ukrainians are reluctant to leave the city and do not accept the fact that they have to leave their homes.
According to Ward, gunshots can be heard at the scene. She reports that a village southeast of Kiev was attacked on Friday (4), which indicates a possible advance of Russian forces towards the Ukrainian capital. The reporter says that Russian bombing may point to an eventual ground entry of troops into Kiev.
