CNN shows the structure of a bunker in Israel during a Hamas attack; look

It was still possible to hear the noise of Israel’s “Iron Dome” intercepting Hamas rockets while the Hamas correspondent CNN Clarissa Ward showed the interior of a hotel where people took shelter in the Israeli city of Ashkelon, this Tuesday (10).

The reporter showed that, on each floor of the hotel, there is a reinforced protection area, or “bunker”, where people take refuge when sirens go off warning of new attacks.

“We heard a series of rockets arriving around us. We also heard the interception of the [sistema antimísseis] “Iron Dome” and you can smell the explosions coming through the balcony,” said the correspondent. Inside the bunker, there are beds and basic supplies for civilians.

“It’s not clear how many rockets ended up hitting their targets, what the damage or casualties were, but it really is a lot of rockets,” Ward said.

This Tuesday (10), Hamas fired a wave of rockets at Ashkelon after sending a warning with a deadline for the city’s residents to leave the area.

Also on Tuesday, young Israeli Noam Elimelech, 24, who lived in Ashkelon, died after one of the Hamas attacks. He was the son of Brazilian parents.
