CNT president defends clear fuel and competition policy for Petrobras

In an exclusive interview with CNNthis Saturday (9), the president of the National Transport Confederation (CNT), Vander Costa, defended a “clear policy” for fuels and “competition for Petrobras”.

Costa commented on the results of a survey promoted by the CNT. The survey showed that 87.5% of Brazilian businessmen in the road freight transport segment are against Petrobras’ current pricing policy.

The survey, carried out with 464 businessmen in the segment that operate throughout the country, also showed that for 82.3% the price of diesel is today the main difficulty faced by transport companies. And for 81.5%, the operating cost with the greatest impact is the value of fuel.

Costa highlighted that diesel is the input with the greatest impact on road freight transport costs.

In this sense, the president of the CNT also defended the existence of “a tool to ensure that the price of diesel oil is treated differently, has a social treatment”, since the fuel is used in various modes of transport such as road, urban and public.

Still on fuel, Costa says that a “differentiated treatment” for diesel is even more necessary when “the price of fuel reflects on inflation”, making several categories of products more expensive.
