The São Paulo police intercepted the transport of 792 kilos of cocaine, this Monday (14), at the Port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. The drug would be transported by ship out of Brazil.
In a joint operation, the 1st Highway Police Battalion worked in a joint operation with the Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service, and seized 800 kilos of cocaine hidden in a shipment of coffee at the Port of Santos, on the Anchieta highway.
The drug was found inside a container at a company that offers retroport services in the Port of Santos region.
During the inspection of the cargo, the agents found dozens of bales, apparently made of coffee but containing white powder. The teams were on patrol as part of an operation to combat drug trafficking in Baixada Santista.
Police officers determined that the suspect was hired to deliver the drugs to the location. The truck driver was arrested red-handed and will be investigated by the Federal Police. The seized drug, valued at more than R$60 million, would be destined for the international market.
